Meet Omito, Green Zebra project leader.
I am deeply committed to the vision that "A community that sows together, grows together" and I truly believe this has no boundaries.
Mentoring without borders is all about focusing energy on themes and projects and people who are bringing value to their part of the world. Each community adds value to the whole as does each member of a community be it in Canada or Africa or elsewhere.
Green Zebra is all about lifting each other up, sharing ideas and encouraging mutual growth and change. When are open to possibilities, we stretch ourselves. We grow and transform, much like a seedling bursting through the ground in the spring.
Project Pillars
Communication - Initiate conversations with others, those that inspire and even those you don’t know… yet. Everyone, everywhere has values and talents to share with the whole. Discover who they are and what they are passionate about.
Empathy - Become a better listener. Hold space for others, without judgment, just pure unconditional love.
Stewardship - Be the best version of you everyday, everywhere. Lead by example, what do you love and how can that be of help to the whole.
Sustainability - Buy local/support your neighbors.
The Significance of the Zebra
When I was a little girl, my mother wrote a story that featured a zebra, which has since become a symbol of significance for me. The zebra represents balance, as its black and white stripes remind me of the yin-yang symbol—two opposing forces that, when united, create harmony. It embodies the idea that sometimes, it’s hard to see where one thing ends and another begins, much like the interconnectedness we share within a community. For me, the zebra is a reminder of the delicate balance in life and the importance of unity.
