Shelley
I was a very lucky child to be raised by amazing parents who shared with me great tools that I would value for a lifetime.
Mom would always say, “Your life is your movie and you are the star. You choose every moment of every day and whether you elect to play the role of the hero or the victim. You also choose your co-stars - so be sure to choose wisely!”
And Dad would chime in with, “The only thing in life you can be sure of is CHANGE, whether it’s happening to you or you are busy cultivating it!”
Naturally, after six-plus decades of learning, Yours Truly has discovered and embraced her own philosophy and enjoys sharing it as often as possible:
We are born in a hospital in the shape of a box, to be taken home to a house in the shape of a box, to sleep in a bedroom in the shape of a box, then we go to school and a classroom, more boxes, in our spare time we sit and watch or listen to a box and now everyone tends to take their boxes everywhere they go only to find that when they die they will end up in yet another box.
🗞️ For more of my story, check out Sheila Quinn's Sherbrooke Record article:
With a nickname like Courageous Wild Pony… how much do you think I enjoy fitting into a box?
You guessed it.
Do you recognize how boxed in you are? Do you have multiple boxes? This is programming. If you are unaware of all that programming then I invite you to please make a change today. Start by at least recognizing the multitudes of boxes you have been exposed to. The next step is being brave and stepping outside those boxes.
I’m not here to tell you what to do…
I’m here hoping to inspire you to take charge of your own life and understand that you matter and if you connect to your instincts and surround yourself with the right folks that inspire healing and self-love, you can tackle anything life throws at you, even something as scary as stage four cancer.
Cash
Cash is an angel in disguise and the best possible walking companion. Throughout the village we go, making connections and putting smiles on people's faces.
Cash was abandoned and rescued by Harley, my son. When Harley moved to an apartment, Cash came to live with me and the rest is history. What a gift.
Walking for World Peace
In December 2020, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Not long after, entire nations were on lockdown because of COVID-19.
Finding the silver lining becomes a powerful act of creation in the toughest of times. Through this challenging journey, I discovered that opportunities to grow and inspire often appear when we look closely enough. By walking over 12,000 km over the last five years and focusing on my health, I've experienced firsthand how small, positive actions can spark broader change. With Cash, we are cultivating community and spreading the message that world peace starts at home. Be the difference—your actions can create ripples that inspire others and transform your world.
Winter, spring, summer or fall. You can count on seeing me and Cash walking.
Together we have walked over 12,000 km in the past five years, hopeful to inspire peace and a healthy lifestyle, not to mention spreading unconditional love.
Beautiful Brome Lake
I was born and raised downtown with a view of the Pettes library. My family roots run deep in this town. I am related to core families including Mizener, Blackwood, Martin, Foster, Tibbits, and Pettes. Many local landmarks were named after family members, like the Blackwood Dam - after Uncle Homer Blackwood, Mom’s brother and town mayor for 27 years.
My family history has nurtured a passion for the magic of this beautiful town. As someone who knows many seniors throughout the community, walking and sharing the sights I see, has become an act of sharing and spreading beauty.
Being an early bird and loving to practice photography skills, it comes easy to snap photos of our beautiful buildings, gardens and wonders of Mother Nature.
